Brushstrokes:  A Collective of Bobcaygeon Artists

In the summer of 2003, twenty progressive artists from the Bobcaygeon area came together as Brushstrokes, a collective formed for
the love of art, to provide an atmosphere in which to learn and grow as artists, to exhibit together, and to promote the art of the
Kawartha Lakes area.  The members of the collective are all watercolourists, but some work in other disciplines as well.

Brushstrokes members meet for three hours every other week in a lovely, light-filled hall at Christ Church in Bobcaygeon.  There they
paint together; mentor, critique and encourage each other; bring in guest artists of the area to lead workshops; and pool their energy
and ideas in the planning of several annual art shows.

The Colours of Cavendish is Brushstrokes' annual Art Show and Sale held in late July or early August at the Cavendish Community Centre.
Members, as well as guest artists exhibiting in other media, participate in the weekend event.  In addition, Brushstrokes members can
be found participating in many area art shows and festivals, in Bobcaygeon, Cobourg, and Fenelon Falls, to name a few.
