Marg Lake
Marg can vividly remember the first time she painted with watercolour at a week-long workshop at The Gallery on the Lake in Buckhorn in 1993. The colours flowed together and did half the work as if by magic, and she was hooked! After retiring from teaching in 1998 she studied for three terms a year with the late Richard Hayman at the Art School of Peterborough and from him she learned techniques and theory that guide her to this day. Recently she has ventured away from realistic painting and is experimenting with the use of bright colour and more interpretative design. She continues to attend workshops and study the work of other artists through their instructional books, and considers herself to still be evolving as an artist. She enjoys being a member of Brushstrokes where she values the support and encouragement of her fellow artists.
